Steamboat All Arts Festival

This summer, Steamboat Springs, Colorado hosts an innovative arts festival that will allow art enthusiasts, food connoisseurs, and performance aficionados to go beyond the canvas and experience a plethora of events as diverse as the Rocky Mountains in which they’re hosted.

The Steamboat All Arts Festival, August 19-22, 2010, is the newest edition to Steamboat’s packed summer season. The four-day event will pair the unique arts and culture community in the Yampa Valley with nationally-renowned artists who are also inspired by the beauty of nature. The All Arts Festival is a collaborative effort to highlight all forms of the arts including music, performing, visual, literary and culinary arts in one weekend at various locations around Steamboat Springs.

“Steamboat Springs is known for its outdoor adventure and incredible winter seasons, but there is a hidden gem of an arts community that continues to garner national attention,” says Sandy Evans Hall, Executive Vice President of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. “The Steamboat All Arts Festival is an opportunity for us to showcase the up and coming arts community in our valley, as well as share diverse art forms from across the nation.”

The All Arts Festival is free to the public during the Avett Brothers concert, Design District Open House, and Art Depot Anniversary Celebration. Other festival components include the George Winston concert, Steamboat Springs Orchestra concert and a night of film with a distinguished film professional. Tickets are available for purchase  by calling 970-879-0880. Arts novices and connoisseurs are encouraged to take part in the inaugural event, which is planned to be a mainstay on the summer events calendar.

“We recognize there are many generations of art lovers that span the ages,” says Evans Hall. “We created the All Arts Festival to reach out to young professionals through retirees to introduce and educate them on new art forms as well as highlight the classics. We are thrilled with this first All Arts Festival and we look forward to growing this event in years to come.”

Participants at the All Arts Festival will be encouraged to literally step into the canvas and take part in educational and experiential arts seminars. Workshops and demonstrations will include beginner Plein Aire painting, nature photography, memoir writing, belly dancing and musical theatre. Workshops will be available throughout the four day festival and will cater to all levels of art enthusiasts. Weekend workshop dates, times and details are available for your pleasure so call for more details or just come on over!  For more information about this event, including event schedule, event updates and special lodging packages contact the chamber.   Come to Steamboat Springs to enjoy the arts, culture and beauty of the Yampa Valley.
